Former Maritzburg United striker Mohau Mokate is set to join Motsepe Foundation Championship side Polokwane City after TS Sporting suffered relegation.
Mokate was with Sporting in the previous campaign but he didn’t enjoy a particularly good start due to an ankle injury.
The 31-year-old did, however, come back with a bang, scoring five goals in a bid to help them retain their second-tier status but it wasn’t to be.
iDiskiTimes has learned that the former Maritzburg United and Ajax Cape Town centre-forward has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend with City, who will be targeting promotion this season.
It’s been a three-year absence from the DStv Premiership for Rise and Shine who finished their 2021/22 NFD campaign in sixth place.
