Western Cape police are offering a cash reward of up to R50 000 for information that could help solve a Nyanga murder case.
Police spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana said Bashira Issaka, a 35-year-old Ghanaian national, was shot and killed on 29 June 2026.
The shooting happened inside his red container business premises.
According to police, the suspects are believed to have demanded a protection fee from him.
Mpendukana said Nyanga police responded to the shooting at about 15:45.
Investigators appeal for help
Police said the investigating officer is exploring all avenues to track down the suspects.
Mpendukana said the public’s help could be critical in bringing the perpetrators to book.
She said the identities of people who come forward with information will remain anonymous.
A cash reward will be paid for information that leads to the successful arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Spaza shops also targeted
The reward comes as police investigate other suspected extortion-linked attacks in the Western Cape.
In Langrug, Franschhoek, two men died after a shooting at a spaza shop in Lavender Street on 13 July.
Police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala said Franschhoek police responded to reports of a shooting at about 19:30.
On arrival, officers found two adult men with gunshot wounds.
They were taken to a medical facility, where they later died.
Police said two more people were seriously injured in the same incident.
Two murder cases and attempted murder cases have been opened.
Bonteheuwel shop owner killed
In a separate incident on the same day, police were called to a shop in Assegaai Street, Bonteheuwel.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said Bishop Lavis SAPS members attended the scene at about 19:52.
The body of a 31-year-old man was found inside the shop.
He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was declared dead at the scene.
The shop owner, a Somali national known as “Umar”, was reportedly serving customers when he was attacked.
Police said the motive will form part of the investigation, but the attack is believed to be linked to extortion and protection money.
