The competition was stiff, with all the young models eyeing the top spot in the country. After the long list of 30 models was released in May, it was difficult for one to only pick Ndavi Nokeri as the winner of Miss South Africa 2022. After Miss South Africa released the top 10 with Nokeri, everything seemed possible as the ten ladies saw themselves at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria.

With a filled Arena, this year’s national beauty pageant was remembered as top celebs showed up in style. After making it to the top 5, nervousness grew even higher for the models, and Nokeri was no exception. However, she maintained her composure thanks to the hard work she had been putting behind the scenes.

Miss South Africa 2022 had few words after winning this year’s competition. She has now joined legendary models to win the national crown like Zozibini Tunzi and Bokang Montjane. The 23-year-old model saw off competition from Ayanda Thabethe and Lebogang Mahlangu, who were the first and second runner-ups.

As emotional as she was when she went for her final interview five days ago, so was she emotional after winning the crown. She started by quoting a bible verse from Luke 1:45 as she thanked God for her success. After thanking God, she thanked the whole of South Africa but said she had not enough words. In her few words, she thanked the fans for giving her love and warmth throughout the process. She later vowed to represent the country with honour and pride.

From Tzaneen in the Limpopo province, Ndavi grew up in a relatively middle-class family. She is a rooted Christian from a strong family of prayer as both her parents are pastors. Ndavi’s outstanding talent in modelling showed itself from a young age. She loved modelling at school, and she won several school awards throughout her journey.
