Dawn Thandeka King shared a hilarious throwback video of Khaya Dladla having a drunken meltdown as GC in church on Uzalo.

A few years back, Uzalo looked completely different from what we know it as now. The storylines were different, and the cast was different.

Dawn Thandeka King was one of the cast members, and so was Khaya Dladla, who played GC, the flamboyant comedic character who always brought him just a bit of trouble.

The episode where GC causes a storm in church aired in August of 2017 when many original members of the series were still a part of the story.

GC was going through a difficult time with a relationship with JoJo that had ended, and he had hit rock bottom. He started hitting the bottle hard, which affected his Salon, which also broke into.
Everything takes its toll on GC, and in one of the episodes, he crashes a church service, and all hell breaks loose.

GC enters the church chanting and making noise to the irritation of Pastor Mdletshe, Mamlambo and all there.

After Mamlambo tries to contain the situation, she sets him off, and he calls her out for her indiscretions and everyone who dares to mouth off.

Khaya Dladla’s performance in this scene has become legendary, and everyone has been talking about it since that episode aired on the SABC channel back in 2017.

Fans have hailed Khaya’s portrayal of GC as one of the best things ever to happen, and even his colleagues seem to think so.

Dawn Thandeka King posted this clip on her social media pages and sang Khaya’s praises.
“Khaya Dladla, you’ve always been my Hero; I love your work.”

This video received 82 thousand views on Instagram on Sunday and got responses from Winnie Ntshaba, Nompilo Maphumulo, who plays Nosipho on the show and even Brian Temba, the singer, replied with laughing emojis calling the performance classic.

Khaya responded to Dawn as well, appreciating the love he was receiving for his performance.

“Oh wow, babe…I’m so humbled” he added a couple of Heart emojis.

Many fans of Uzalo talked about how different the show has become and how it doesn’t have funny moments like these anymore. Viewers feel the show lost a lot of value when the original cast members left the show.

Some just accepted that things have to change.
