Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled the signing of Bongani Zungu ahead of their clash against Kaizer Chiefs.
Zungu had been linked with a move back to South Africa after his contract with Amiens had come to an end.
There have been reports that Chiefs had made an even bigger offer to Zungu than Masandawana’s initial offer, but coach Arthur Zwane had dismissed those claims.
On Saturday, Downs unveiled Zungu as their new player at Loftus Versfeld Stadium ahead of their clash against Chiefs.
The 29-year-old midfielder left Downs in 2016 to join Vitoria Guimaraes but now returned to South Africa after six years in Europe.
He won four trophies during his first stint at Chloorkop, two PSL titles, one Nedbank Cup trophy and one Telkom Knockout.
