Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Bernard Parker has signed for TS Galaxy as the club continues to beef up their sqaud for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

Parker, who was heavily linked with Supersport United, penned a two-year deal.

The Tshwane-based side’s head coach Gavin Hunt is a big admirer of Parker and he publicly expressed his desire to add him to the sqaud to give them a much needed experience.

However, Galaxy president Tim Sukazi moved swiftly to capture the signature of the former Bafana Bafana forward.

His signing comes after a statement win in which they got a famous victory over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday.

“TS Galaxy Football Club has captured the signature of former Bafana Bafana international Bernard Parker on a two-year contract,” the club confirmed on their official social media platforms.

The 36-year old forward parted with Amakhosi after the club opted against extending his contract.

The attacking midfielder who is known for his ambidextrous abilities made 24 appearances in the league, scored four goals and contributed two assists for the Soweto giants.

Amongst other players who were released by Arthur Zwane-coached club were Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Manyama, Daniel Cardoso, Siphokashe Ntiya-Ntiya, Lazarous Kambole, Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, Daniel Akpeyi, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Dumisane Zuma who have since joined AmaZulu FC.

Interestingly, Galaxy’s next fixture is against a team that came close to signing the 36-year-old.

They face Matsatsantsa on Sunday at Mbombela Stadium and the former Thanda Roya Zulu star will be looking to help his new club win two succesive games.

They also added Sibusiso Vilakazi and Xola Mlambo earlier in the transfer window and will be looking to do better than last season.
