Another Loan For Pirates Defender?

Published

on

An Orlando Pirates defender could be heading out on loan once again, in what would be the sixth season he spends at a club other than at the Buccaneers.

Sandile Mthethwa looks set to be heading back to Chippa United, after once again finding himself surplus to requirements at Pirates.

The 25-year-old has spent the past three seasons on loan in Gqeberha, and has been a key figure for Chippa in their defence.

The former KwaZulu-Natal Academy player has actually spent most of his Pirates career out on loan, having also played for Richards Bay for two seasons.

In his seven years at the club, he has just one league appearance for the Buccaneers, which he got last season, before heading out on loan.

Now it seems likely that he could head back to Gqeberha, however that may depend on whether Pirates sign another defender, with the club having been linked with Swallows’ veteran Wandisile Letlabika.

In this week’s  edition of iDiski Times we catch up with former Mamelodi Sundowns star Sibusiso Vilakazi as he talks about his ups and downs with the Brazilians, as well as his ambitions with TS Galaxy. We also hear from the newly appointed Chippa United coach, Daine Klate, who reveals what type of football he wants his team to play, and why he decided to take on one of the hottest seats in PSL coaching. There are also interviews with Kaitano Tembo and Jerry Tshabalala, as well as a preview of the highly anticipated battle between Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns this weekend. Get this and more in the full edition of iDiski Times below:
