LIMPOPO WEEKLY MARCH AND MARCH DEMOSTRACTORS ARE WARNED AGAINST UNAUTHORISED INSPECTIONS OF IDENTITY DOCUMENTS
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, warns members of the public against conducting illegal inspections of identity documents at farms, businesses or any other premises. Only authorised law enforcement agencies are legally empowered by the Constitution of the Republic to carry out compliance inspections and immigration-related operations.
The call comes as the country commence it’s weekly March and March Movement demonstrations to regional Home Affairs offices in their respective areas.
Ruling was taken at the national March and March Movement on 30 June 2026 in Durban.
The movement leader Jacinta Mangobese Zuma urged all South Africans to use Thursdays as a national demonstration day against undocumented foreigners.
In Limpopo, the demonstration will be held at Mokopane and on Friday at Ba_ Phalaborwa, where the Premier will be handed over a memorandum during her service delivery program.
Major General Scheepers urges communities to work closely with the police through lawful channels and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
