Mbalenhle Sebapu, popularly known as Gorgeous Mbali by her followers, had humble beginnings in her life. The story of how she went from being a soldier in the South African National Defence Force to following her dream inspires many people to do what they love. Currently, she is a business Mogul and the owner of a recognized and loved makeup brand and jewellery line and is not stopping anytime soon.

How Mbali Sebapu started as a soldier

Mbali Sebapu started getting into beauty contests when she was young and in primary school. According to the influencer, she liked being dolled up and dressing up for these competitions, and in high school, the zeal only grew. However, as time went on, she joined the army as it was a way to make a decent salary that came in without fail rather than plays with the odds and pursue beauty.

While she was still in the army, Mbali took on being a social media influencer as a side hustle. As time went on, it began making a decent income for her. That’s when she decided to quit her job as a soldier and turned her focus to being a social media influencer full time. Many people liked her style and fashion sense, so she gained many followers on Instagram, and currently, she has over half a million followers.

Mbali’s makeup and jewellery businesses

With time she then released her cosmetics and makeup brand Hermosa Flor, who is CEO and Founder. The makeup brand made huge sales at its launch. Mbali opened up about some orders being delayed because of the support she got from her followers. She sells lipsticks, eyeshadows, highlighters and many more. Her brand has won an award for best beauty brand at the youth-owned brands’ Awards. Before that, she won the Consumer choice award for the promising female business exemplary.

On top of her makeup line, Mbali now has a jewellery line called Angela, which was launched last year. The business has been as successful as Hermosa Flor, and famous people like Tumi Linx and many others are wearing it as well. Her followers have been supportive as well, wearing her pieces. Mbali is among some of the wealthiest influencers in Mzansi. Her garage is a dream to many as she owns a Mercedes Benz G wagon and AMG. The influencer also has a small bus for her business and is rumoured to be worth R10 million rand, with her money coming from social media and companies.
