Political figure Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza wore his heart on his sleeve when he penned an emotional message to rising soccer star Relebohile Mofokeng, who will soon call Belgium his new home.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder was signed to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. According to Soccermag, the agreement was concluded before the 2026 FIFA World Cup began, with a joint decision made to withhold any announcement until after the tournament so Mofokeng could focus entirely on Bafana Bafana’s historic run.

As seen on social media, Mofokeng has built a close relationship with the Nciza family, having spent time with Nciza’s son, Nkululeko ‘Ciza’ Nciza, who is responsible for the hit track Isaka (6am).

TK Nciza wishes Relebohile Mofokeng well

In an Instagram post shared on 1 July 2026, the former Provincial Secretary of the African National Congress in Gauteng said:

“Last year this time I was losing my mind because I know how much you love the game. You are an inspiration to many young people out there and a [source of] hope for many South Africans and [across] the continent. Resilience, hard work, self-determination, love for the game.”

Nciza added that he felt Mofokeng played at the highest level in South Africa, describing him as one of the best players to ever play for the Buccaneers.

“Every time you put on that jersey, you did it with love and passion. Three years of the President Yama 2k [Mofokeng’s nickname]. My God, it was unbelievable. When you sat down after the last whistle in Mbombela, I knew deep down in my heart that it was the last dance, and indeed you did your part. Go and do us proud, mfana waseSharpville; we are proud of you.”

He concluded, “We are now the new fans of your new club. Once a Pirate, always a Pirate.”
