Orlando Pirates could pounce on Namibian striker Peter Shalulile after the 32-year-old forward parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The lanky striker has not seen much game time under Miguel Cardoso with Brayan Leon and Iqraam Rayners preferred ahead of him.
Soccer Laduma reported on Wednesday that Shalulile did not renew his contract with the Brazilians.
“The Siya crew has learnt that the Namibian international has parted ways with the Brazilians after his contract expired on June 30, with the club and player agreeing not to continue despite Sundowns holding a one-year option in the deal,” the publication wrote.

Since January, Shalulile’s future with Masandawana has been the subject of speculation, with reports linking him with an exit. He joined Sundowns from Highlands Park in 2020 and has scored 68 times.
Soccer Ladume reported that both parties have mutually agreed to go their separate ways making the Namibian international the biggest free agent in South Africa.
Orlando Pirates are in need of a top striker and might want to pen a deal with Shalulile.
At 32, he might only sign a two-year deal with the club but an option to move to the Middle East might be a financial gain. Sipho Mbule left Sundowns and joined Pirates but his time with the Buccaneers lasted just 10 months.
It remains to be seen if Shalulile will remain in the PSL or head to the Middle East.
