Here are some of the winning looks at the BET Awards

Hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, the BET Awards had black entertainers showing up and showing out in the fashion department.

While some looked demure and understated but gorgeous, some went for bolder and daring looks that brought variety and style to the evening.

Actress Nia Long wore a sexy deep-V brown silk dress accented with gold jewellery.

I can’t but crown Lizzo the winner of the look of the evening, with her sexy but graceful dress. It had enough shimmer, sex appeal, and coverage to tease while being tasteful at the same time. Her blonde hair was the icing on the gorgeous cake.

Singer Kelly Rowland also had the same idea with a brown and shimmering look for the evening. She wore a halter dress that showed off her body to perfection.

Seemingly a theme for the event, Lauren Hill also graced us with a gorgeous rich brown gown.

Nigerian singer Tems also went for the earth tones, wearing a brown halter dress that blended beautifully with her skin tone.

Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace went for something with a pop of colour.

An injection of deep red came from singer and one of the winners of the awards, Kehlani.

Love Island USA’s Olandria Carthen was in bright yellow, which looked great against her beautiful skin tone. The dress was sexy but tasteful.

Not much creativity went into some of the looks for the men at the event, but some did well.
