Mo’nique: Oprah’s Whitney Houston claims ‘unfair to the dead’

Comedian and actress Mo’nique has given her opinion about Oprah Winfrey’s recent claim about Whitney Houston’s fall at her show.

In a recent conversation with Phil Thomas, Winfrey spoke about the loyalty of her talkshow audience and remembered an instance that perfectly demonstrated that.

She said when Houston was on her show in 2009, she took a tumble in front of the audience.

Winfrey then begged her audience not to put out the pictures to protect Houston because she knew that she was on drugs at the time.

This was denied by Houston’s sister-in-law, saying that the singer fell during a sound check, and it was due to the darkness of the area and her unfamiliarity with the stage.

Mo’nique weighs in

In a recent radio interview, Mo’nique was asked what one question she’s surprised no one has asked her, which she turned on the host to find out what the host wants to know but hasn’t asked the comedian.

“What is a secret conversation you have had on the side with somebody in the industry that you have never told, but it will make an impact on the industry? It will shake a table,” asked the host.

“If I tell you who I had to seek a conversation with, it’s going to shake the table… Jesse Jackson,” responded Mo’nique.

The actress and comedian refused to divulge the contents of the conversation because Jackson is no longer alive.

“… It would be unfair. So you gotta play fair, because I will not speak of a person about any conversation, about any incidents, about anything that they cannot say yes or no to, because when you do that, that becomes unfair,” explained Mo’nique.

The subject of the conversation changed to Winfrey talking about Houston.

“Oprah actually recently talked about Whitney Houston on the interview,” said the host.

“Didn’t Oprah fall on stage? … we didn’t see how she tripped, nothing. And she just went down. We saw her, she was walking, and fine she said the shoes, okay, what was wrong… How do you speak about someone that can’t defend it? … Because that woman can’t say yes or no, and now you just want everybody to take your word, because you’re the great Oprah Winfrey?” continued Mo’nique.

“I still love my sister Oprah Winfrey, let me be clear about that. People think in correction it means you don’t love. It’s simply just correction,” said Mo’nique.
