Eskom will implement Stage 2 power cuts from 5 am Thursday morning to 4 pm.
It will then increase to Stage 4 from 4 pm to midnight.
The power utility says there’s a shortage of generation capacity coupled with higher demand due to colder weather.
Energy analysts say it will take some time for South Africa to completely end blackouts.
