Free State Stars Set To Be Sold

Free State Stars are set to sell their Motsepe Foundation Championship status, iDiski Times have been reliably informed.

The club formerly known Qwa-Qwa Stars based in Bethlehem has notably been struggling financially since suffering relegation back in the 2018/19 season.

Having not been able to win promotion since – Ea Lla Koto has struggled to maintain the costs of running the club and has now taken the decision to sell.

This website has it on good authority that Casric FC, the club that featured in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League last season will now acquire their status to move into the second-tier.

Several former Stars players were spotted at the club’s training ground this week as they hosted assessments to put together a squad ahead of the new season.

iDiski Times sources confirmed the deal has been agreed between the two clubs subject to the Premier Soccer League approval, with an official announcement expected this week.

Stars who won the Nedbank Cup back in 2018 under controversial former coach Luc Eymael become the latest club to sell their professional status while newly-promoted Magesi are said to be open to offers at present.
