New Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has addressed questions whether the club will sign more players and whether others might still leave.
The Spanish coach took over at the start of the pre-season, and almost all of the signings Pirates have made were completed before his arrival.
However Riveiro says he is concentrating on the players he has, and doesn’t think the club will need to make further acquisitions.
“I am very concentrated on the players that we already have,” Riveiro said at the DStv Premiership launch last week.
“Not thinking so much, not spending time about any other possibilities. We have enough.”
When asked whether some more players would leave the club, Riveiro admitted that he is not in charge of the club’s transfer dealings.
“I’m not controlling the market. We have a very strong technical team and with the coaching staff together we try to get the best we can,” he added.
“Obviously we have a big squad but it’s probably something we need in the season. It doesn’t mean that nobody else will come.
“You never know, but the main part of my job is to be focussing on what we have.”
Pirates begin their league campaign on the weekend when they host Swallows in the Original Soweto Derby.
