Television personality and musician Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, has been released on bail following an urgent application in the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Johannesburg.

This was announced by NPA South Gauteng Spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole in a statement issued on 16 June 2026.

Magaboke said that Maarohanye , the presenter of Moja Love’s Uyajola 9/9 show, was granted bail of R5,000 on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, after challenging delays surrounding his court appearance.

Maarohanye was arrested on 14 June 2026 and faces a charge of pointing an object likely to make another person believe it was a firearm. The charge stems from an incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale.

According to information presented before the court, police later searched Maarohanye’s residence, where they allegedly recovered and seized a pellet gun before placing him under arrest.

In his urgent court application, Maarohanye raised concerns about not appearing before the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on 15 June 2026 as expected. He sought release on bail pending his first formal court appearance.

The High Court ruled in his favour and ordered his release on bail while the criminal matter continues.

The case has been postponed to 22 June 2026 in the Germiston Magistrates’ Court to allow for further investigation.

The NPA said it remains committed to handling the matter fairly and impartially while ensuring that the interests of justice are upheld throughout the legal process.
