Jub Jub expected in court after recent arrest

Media personality Jub Jub, real name Molemo Maarohanye, is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court sometime today, 15 June 2026, after his arrest on Sunday morning.

Jub Jub faces alleged charges of kidnapping and a shooting incident that involved an e-hailing driver in Edenvale, Gauteng. It was confirmed that the police arrested him and took him into custody.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said, “The driver was allegedly confronted by the suspect, who accused him of being romantically involved with his girlfriend.” Mathe continued, “ The suspect [Jub Jub] allegedly discharged a firearm in the direction of the driver during the confrontation.”

He will appear in court tomorrow. JubJub is in custody at a police station in Ekurhuleni.

No further details have been shared as the investigation is still ongoing.

Jub Jub has been in trouble with the law before, having faced a murder case in which he spent a year in jail. His recent run-in with the law involved an alleged rape, assault and attempted murder case back in 2023. However, those charges were dropped.
