‘It’s a moment of healing’

The multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Lira is set to mark her return to her hometown, Ekurhuleni, with a powerhouse performance.

The “Feel Good” singer was recently announced as the headlining act for the 10th edition of the Business Premium Jazz Festival. The event blends live jazz music with networking and cultural exchange for business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, the occasion aims to unite individuals through music and to celebrate local talent while fostering connections within the business community.

With this year’s milestone edition focusing on honouring the strength and brilliance of women shaping our world – through music, business, and the arts – the inclusion of Lira as the headlining act is one that was well meditated.

This will see her make her first major performance in her hometown following her health scare, which caused her to spend months on the sidelines after her stroke recovery.

“Having Lira return to perform in her hometown on Heritage Day is deeply meaningful. It’s a moment of healing, pride, and joy, not only for her but for thousands who have been inspired by her journey. We want the event to echo through Ekurhuleni and across South Africa as a symbol of hope and cultural pride,” said Richard Ramudzuli, head of Thikho Events in an interview with news publication TimesLive.

Meanwhile, Lira expressed excitement in the wake of the upcoming event as well. Taking to her Instagram page, she promised fans to deliver a standout performance on a night they may never forget.

The festival is set to take place on 24 September at Carnival City.
