American singer and rapper Bryson Tiller confirmed that he will be coming to Durban, South Africa on 4 July.

BRYSON TILLER CONFIRMS HE WILL BE COMING TO DURBAN

Don’t hitmaker Bryson Tiller is returning to South Africa after almost a decade. He will be joined in Durban by Swae Lee, Masego, Shekinah, Cassper Nyovest, Elaine, Akio and Asante, according to The Ascots website. This comes after the event was announced with DJ Mustard, who said it was fake news.

Bryson confirmed that he will be coming to Durban in an Instagram post, where he spoke about being back after years. The last time Bryson performed in South Africa was in June 2017, when he performed at the Castle Lite Unlocks concert. This time he will be at The Ascots at the Hollywoodbets Durban July at the Greyville Racecourse in Durban. Take a look…

“Back in South Africa after all these years ❤️‍🔥 @the.ascots see you on July 4th,” he wrote on Instagram.

Fans in the comments section pleaded with Bryson to come to Johannesburg and Cape Town. However, others added that Durban rarely gets international events. The man behind The Ascots is Sibo Mhlungu, previously expressed that the intention is to uplift his hometown of Durban.

“The focus is on the full experience, from arrival to the final act. As someone born and bred in Durban, this is more than just an event to me; it’s a way to uplift and contribute to my hometown. For years, Durban has been treated as a secondary market for large-scale shows and has rarely been considered a destination for international artists or events of this scale,” said Mhlungu.

THE CONTROVERSIAL PRICES…. HAS IT DROPPED?

Initially the prices were advertised exorbitantly high, as follows:

  • R9850 – Includes race course ticket access, entry to The Ascots Village Lawns, live performances by international headliners and special guest artists and a complimentary champagne brunch.
  • R100 000 – 10 racecourse ticket access, entry to The Ascots Terraces, live performances by international headliners and special guest artists and complimentary champagne brunch
  • R150 000 – includes 10 racecourse ticket access, entry to The Ascots Village, live performances by international headliners and special guest artists and complimentary Champagne Brunch.

However, according to the Ascots website the price has since dropped to R2750.
