Rachel Kolisi mourns death of Parklands College head boy

Author and director Rachel Kolisi has reacted to the death of Parklands College headboy Connor Niske via an Instagram Story on Tuesday 9 June.

PARKLANDS COLLEGE HEAD BOY CONNOR NISKE PASSES AWAY

Parklands College announced the death of the school’s headboy Connor Niske in a statement. The family of Niske did not reveal his cause of death.

“Connor led with kindness, integrity, and humility, bringing joy, warmth and positivity to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to serve others made a lasting impression on our community. Connor’s presence could be felt across our campuses. His absence will be deeply felt by learners, educators, staff and friends alike,” read the statement.

“Connor’s legacy of leadership, service, and kindness will remain a part of the Parklands College and Christopher Robin Pre-Primary family forever,” as per the statement.

FAMILY SPEAKS OUT

Niske leaves behind parents, Noeleen and Uwe, and his brother Josh. The family has also released a statement following the sad and untimely death of their son.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved child, Connor Niske. We are deeply grateful to Parklands College and the broader community for the incredible outpouring of love, support, and kindness we have received during this heartbreaking time. Your thoughts, prayers, and messages have meant more to us than words can express,” read the statement.

The family asked for privacy during this time.

“As our family navigates this immense loss, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and spend time together. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” read the statement.
