Kim Kardashian slammed for Monaco Grand Prix grid walk snub

Reality television star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian has come under fire on social media after an awkward interaction with veteran Formula One broadcaster Martin Brundle at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.

Brundle, whose pre-race grid walk interviews have become a popular feature of Formula One broadcasts, approached Kardashian and her sister, Khloe Kardashian, ahead of Sunday’s race in Monte Carlo.

Did not respond

As cameras rolled, Brundle greeted Kim Kardashian and asked how she was doing.

The Skims founder appeared not to respond and looked away while a member of her entourage spoke to her.

“Normally, people will have a quick chat with us. Are you enjoying F1?” Brundle asked before Kardashian and her sister continued walking.

“So, we’re not talking today,” Brundle remarked as the pair moved on.

Went viral

The brief exchange quickly went viral online, sparking debate among Formula One fans.

Some social media users criticised Kardashian’s behaviour, describing the encounter as dismissive and disrespectful toward the veteran broadcaster.

Others defended the reality star, arguing that celebrities and guests are under no obligation to participate in interviews while making their way through the crowded pre-race grid.

The incident became one of the most talked-about off-track moments of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, with fans divided over whether Kardashian intentionally ignored Brundle or was simply focused on navigating the busy grid environment.

Kim Kardashian attended the race alongside Khloé after arriving in Monaco earlier in the weekend.

Supporting Lewis Hamilton

The sisters were supporting seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has been linked romantically to Kim Kardashian since earlier this year.

Neither Kim Kardashian nor her representatives had publicly commented on the incident at the time of publication.

Brundle’s grid walks have previously produced several memorable celebrity encounters, with stars from the worlds of sport, entertainment and politics often being approached for impromptu interviews moments before races begin.
