Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to former co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef with a jersey signed by the entire first-team squad, which the Tunisian coach later shared on Instagram.

Ben Youssef appeared touched by the gesture, writing: “Thank you for the gift” while sharing the images with his followers.

HEARTFELT MESSAGE ACCOMPANIES JERSEY FROM KAIZER CHIEFS

While the signed jersey was the centrepiece of the gift, it also included a personal message written by Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung.

In the note, Motaung thanked Ben Youssef for his dedication, passion and commitment to the club, praising the impact he made during his time with Kaizer Chiefs.

She also acknowledged the time, energy and heart he invested in the team and wished him success in the next chapter of his coaching career.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian tactician is said to be edging close to a move to Durban City FC.

MASSIVE EXPERIENCE AT 37

Ben Youssef joined Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the 2024/25 season as an assistant coach under Nasreddine Nabi before stepping up to co-coach the first team alongside Cedric Kaze following Nabi’s departure.

During his time at Naturena, the Tunisian helped guide Amakhosi to the 2025 Nedbank Cup title as an assistant, an improved league campaign and a return to continental competitiveness, while earning praise for his tactical organisation and work with young players.

Before arriving in South Africa, Ben Youssef built extensive experience across Africa and the Middle East as an assistant coach, performance analyst and technical specialist.

He worked with clubs in Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, while also enjoying successful spells with Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC and Moroccan powerhouse AS FAR Rabat, establishing a reputation as a respected tactician on the continent.
