WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE SURGERY

The Falling Forward author revealed that she was hospitalised on 18 May. About a week later revealed that she underwent shoulder surgery.

“I thought I would do a proof of life video… and I also thought it would be best to do a video when I was off pain medication. Just to ensure nothing interesting comes out of my mouth,” she said in her Instagram Story.

She also shared an update about a week ago, showing her recovery process.

“Obviously not ideal. But is what it is. Made it through the first week post op, only because I have the most amazing people around me. So grateful for every call, lift, message, meal, kids pick up, homework and and and.. THANK YOU!” she wrote.

“We move 💪🏼♥️,” she continued.

Rachel has two children with estranged husband Siya Kolisi – Nicholas (11) and Keziah (9). She also legally adopted Siya’s two siblings with him – Liyema and Liphelo, when they were younger, making her a mother figure to four.
