Official: Chippa Announce 16 New Signings

Chippa United have confirmed as many as 16 new signings for new head coach Daine Klate.

The Chilli Boys had been quiet on the player front, focusing on changes in their technical team with Daine Klate replacing Kurt Lentjies, who was placed on special leave, on the sidelines.

However, on Wednesday Chippa confirmed 16 new arrivals, including former Orlando Pirates defender Justice Chabalala, who was already confirmed as new signing for the club by his agency.

iDiski Times had already reported on a number of these signings, including Azola Ntasbo, Brooklyn Poggenpoel and Sirgio Kammies, who had been at Cape Town All Stars last season.

“The club has been working very hard to bolster our squad for the 2022/23 season,” the club said in a statement.

“We have recently signed players from Cofimvaba, Tsomo and Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape. Chippa United Chairman, Mr. Siviwe Mpengesi unveiled the new players during the Housing Handover today in Deberha, eNgcobo alongside Eastern Cape Premier Hon. Oscar Mabuyane.
