LaConco explains why she left the coal industry

On 29 May 2026, LaConco took to her Instagram account, revealing that she was first introduced to the business by a good female friend four years ago.

“Entering the world of commodities opened my eyes to both opportunity and the harsh realities of greed, betrayal, loss and dishonesty,” she wrote. “It became overwhelming, and I had to step away.”

Despite the negativity she had experienced, LaConco stated that she was ready to learn, grow, build meaningful relations, and understand the field.

“The smell of the dust, the sound of the machines, and the energy of this environment fulfil my heart. Amathemba ami onke aseNkosini, imizamo yami iyophela mhla ngabizwa iyona. Bafazi akalali umuntu ozele inkwenkwe!”

LaConco gets the internet’s support

Several social media users went to the comment section feeling inspired, while others shared messages of support.

Entrepreneur Savita Mbuli, the wife of the late Morning Live presenter Vuyo Mbuli, remarked, “Mntase, a solid business takes time to build. Don’t be discouraged. There’s no fair game. As a black woman, you must work thrice as hard. Be patient with your growth. Well done on going back.”

@lola_ngobese shared under the post, “Sis is standing on business as per usual. May God continue to shine His light on you.”

@noxolombatha told the online community, “I recently also branched into this sector. I am enjoying the journey; there is so much to learn and take in.”

“Please create employment and opportunities for other women,” pleaded @be_coming_herself.
