Veteran defender Nazeer Allie has found a new home after parting ways with Maritzburg United a few weeks ago.

After 17 years out of Cape Town, Allie has join his childhood club Cape Town Spurs, who used to be known as Ajax Cape Town back in 2005 when he made his senior debut for the side.

On Tuesday, Spurs confirmed the signing of the 37-year-old who returns to the ‘Urban Warriors’ ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Cape Town-born defender won a league title with Bidvest Wits in the 2016/17 campaign and the following season he won Telkom Knockout with the very same side.

The former Bafana Bafana international looks to help Spurs to reach top-flight football after a four-year absence.

The Cape Town-based side finished just above the relegation zone in the GladAfrica Championship last season and seemingly have much higher targets for 2022/23 Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Allie becomes the club’s seventh signing following Clayton Daniels, Michael Morton, Therlo Moosa, Sithembiso Ncobe, Maurice Finck and Alucius Wagaba, while Boitumelo Radiopane joined on loan and Faiz Abrahams was promoted to the first team.
