Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Uthongathi have announced Simo Dladla as Papi Zothwane’s successor as Head Coach.

Zothwane departed the club at the end of the month, and has since moved on to Polokwane City.

Dladla, the former Richards Bay Head Coach, was at Swallows last season, where he served as assistant to Brandon Truter. He also had a brief spell as caretaker coach when Truter was put on special leave. But it was a disappointing stint, and he was sidelined after that when Truter was sacked.

The 42-year-old came to the fore as Head Coach of Real Kings, but after a three-year period in charge, he was replaced at the club when Shauwn Mkhize bought into the franchise that became the first rendition of Royal AM. While moved to Technical Director, he left the club soon after to join Richards Bay.

He went close to promotion with Bay two seasons ago, but was dismissed as they dropped out of the lead with a few games remaining in the 2020/2021 season.
