TYLA MAKES AMA HISTORY

Tyla made history after becoming the first international artist to win the Social Song of the Year category at the American Music Awards. Her viral song “CHANEL” continues to perform well globally and has already reached more than 350 million streams on Spotify.

Fans across social media celebrated the singer’s achievement shortly after the winners were announced. The award also showed the growing influence of African artists on the global music stage.

The fan-voted category recognised the massive popularity of “CHANEL,” which became one of the most talked-about songs of the year. Tyla’s unique sound, fashion influence and strong social media presence have helped her build a loyal international fanbase.

TYLA BEATS TOP AFROBEATS STARS

Tyla faced strong competition in the Best Afrobeats Artist category. She beat several major African stars, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema and Moliy.

The singer also received nominations for Best Female R&B Artist and Best Music Video, adding to her growing list of international achievements.

This is not Tyla’s first success at the AMAs. In 2025, she won the Favourite Afrobeats Artist award, where she beat artists like Wizkid, Rema and Tems.

Several international stars also won big during the ceremony. Artists including Cardi B, Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber received awards during the evening.
