Kaizer Chiefs coach hopes all his players make final Bafana squad

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has reacted to four of his players who were called to the Bafana Bafana’s World Cup preliminary squad.

The players selected are Brandon Petersen, Thabiso Monyane, Lebohang Maboe and Bradley Cross.

In the past, Amakhosi players have been overlooked, with coach Hugo Broos explaining that the team were not consistent enough to warrant a selection.

“Maboe, Petersen, Cross and [Monyane]. That shows us all the progress that has been made this season,” said Kaze.

“Sometimes people think that the best coaches are the coaches that complain about everything, about players not having enough resources.”

“Sometimes you use what you get, and you make it better. The four players that have been in the preliminary squad are the sign of the progress that has been made collectively and individually.

“I hope that they make all of them the way to the World Cup,” Kaze added as per iDiski Times.

Amakhosi finished third in the Betway Premiership after a good season under Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.

With four Kaizer Chiefs players selected for the Bafana‘s preliminary squad, it remains to be seen if all the four will make the final cut.

Broos is expected to name his final 26-man squad on Wednesday at the Union Buildings.

Bafana will play Mexico in their opening match of the World Cup on 11 June but before that, Broos’ men will play several friendly matches.

How many Chiefs players will make it to the final squad?
