Junior Dion claims Betway Premiership 2025/26 Golden Boot honours

The 2025/26 Betway Premiership season is done and dusted with the country’s top goal scorer now officially crowned.

The award went to 27-year-old Junior Dion who became just the second Golden Arrows player to pick up the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot after Richard Henyekane did so in the 2008/09 season.

All-time record safe for another season

Dion scored 14 goals, two more than Mamelodi Sundowns’ Iqraam Rayners.

Dion made 27 league appearances this season.

Only four players managed double-digit goals this campaign.

Last season, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lucas Ribeiro Costa proved to be the deadliest striker in the country with 16 goals.

Once again, no one came close to the all-time PSL record of 25 goals held by Zambia’s Collins Mbesuma while playing for Kaizer Chiefs in the 2004/05 season.
