Chris Brown receives honorary PhD in visual & performing arts

Award-winning singer and performer Chris Brown is celebrating a major milestone after receiving an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Visual & Performing Arts from Harvest Christian University.

The star shared a series of photos from the graduation ceremony on Instagram, showing him dressed in academic regalia while holding his honorary doctorate certificate. He captioned the post simply, writing, “I did a thing.”

Another image showed the official diploma recognizing the honorary distinction in Visual & Performing Arts.

According to the certificate, the degree was awarded on 23 May, 2026.

CHRIS BROWN HONOURED BY HARVEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

Harvest Christian University presented the honorary degree as recognition of Chris Brown’s contributions to music, entertainment, and performance culture. The university highlighted his long-standing presence in the entertainment industry and his work as a recording and performing artist.

CHRIS BROWN MUSIC CAREER BEGAN IN 2004

Chris Brown officially began his music career in 2004 at the age of 15 when he signed with Jive Records. He rose to international fame after releasing his debut single “Run It!” in 2005, followed by his self-titled debut studio album later that same year.

He has since continued to release music over the years, including his 12th studio album, Brown, released on 8 May, 2026. The 27-track project features collaborations with artists such as Bryson Tiller, NBA YoungBoy and Lucky Daye.

UPCOMING STADIUM TOUR

Chris Brown is preparing for a stadium tour with Usher Raymond, titled “The R&B Tour”. The 40-date North American tour will kick off on 26 June 2026, in Denver, Colorado, before wrapping up on 12 December 2026.
