Sounds of jubilation have recently echoed through the corridors of the maternity ward, after renowned media personality Gogo Maweni welcomed two new additions into her family.

After months of sacrifice, sleepless nights, and the discomfort that comes with carrying the weight of two growing human beings in one’s belly, it now appears that none of it was in vain. This week, the popular sangoma and reality TV star took to her Instagram page, sharing pictures of her newborn twins just after delivery.

She captioned her post: “10 Days ago our love as well as our bond got a whole lot stronger.”

Meanwhile, the gallery of pictures proved exactly this as it provided their followers with a close-up glimpse into the entire experience, from labour to the final delivery. Later, her husband, Sabelo Mgube, can be seen standing in awe of her strength, while simultaneously being mesmerised by the beauty of their little ones.

Aside from her recent two, Maweni is also the mother of three others, the first being with an unidentified American, while the second is her son, whom she shares with actor Sthembiso Khoza. She also has another son with former Mamelodi Sundowns footballer Siyabonga Zulu, who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this year.

The couple regard their latest additions as their miracle babies. After having difficulties with fertility, the two later turned to in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

They initially decided to keep the news silent until they were 100% sure that it would be a success.

Earlier this year, she said:

“We’ve been trying and haven’t been getting it right.

“It’s been a lot of tries. We had two embryos but lost one. So now we have this one growing , and I just want to keep it to myself with no noise and no drama. I want the baby to grow.”
