Kaizer Chiefs will shuffle their pack after an encouraging campaign. Which stars could leave in the latest stage of their rebuild?

Chiefs to wave goodbye to as many as seven senior stars?

According to various reports, as many as seven senior players have their Kaizer Chiefs contracts expiring in June. They are Gaston Sirino, Khanyisa Mayo, Zitha Kwinika, Bruce Bvuma, Dillan Solomons, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Pule Mmodi. With Mayo showing glimmers of form and Mmodi always a useful guy to deploy in several attacking positions, the other five are likeliest to leave. Furthermore, the club is readying a new contract for Brandon Petersen.

Chiefs face Chippa in season finale

Kaizer Chiefs sealed third place weeks ago, so they’ll go into 2025-2026’s season finale in a relaxed mood. Mduduzi Shabalala will play no part as he negotiates the early stages of his recovery from a broken arm. Meanwhile, Flavio Silva and Glody Lilepo miss the match due to suspension. The visiting Chilli Boys have more incentive to take the match seriously, with a win guaranteeing their top-flight status for next term. Chiefs vs Chippa kicks off at 15:00 on Saturday, 23 May. The match will air on DStv Channel 202.
