Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis and six South African stars have made the final nominations for the 2022 Women’s CAF Awards.

With Sundowns Ladies scooping a treble and the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League title it’s no surprise to see their players dominate the lists this year.

Bambanani Mbane, Andisiwe Mgcoyi and goalkeeper Andile Dlamini have made the final ten for the inter-club Player of the Year, while the Banyana stopper has also made the list for the outright Player of the Year.

She’s joined by teammates, Thembi Kgatlana, Refiloe Jane and Ellis has received the nod for another Coach of the Year honour, having already won it back-to-back in 2018 and 2019.

The Banyana boss is currently leading her troops at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations where they face Tunisia in the quarter-finals this evening, with a place at the 2023 FIFA World Cup at stake.
