Impressive Maloisane Attracts Downs & Swallows Interest

Former Cape Town All Stars defender Thabo Maloisane has attracted interest from Swallows FC as well as Mamelodi Sundowns.

Maloisane, a Downs youth product, was on loan at All Stars in 2021/22 and led the side to finish third in the second division, with the third-best defensive record in the league, conceding just 26 goals in 30 games.

The fine performances of the 23-year-old haven’t gone unnoticed and and Swallows have seemingly identified him as potential new signing in the heart of the defence as they look to finish this season higher up the log.

Sundowns, though, could also consider re-signing him after his contract expired after experiencing several injuries to their central defenders last season, when they were forced to play Divine Lunga in the position.

Maloisane’s representative, Eugen Mbatha insisted the player is looking for regular game-time at this point in his career and they are talking to both Downs and Swallows.

“No, he’s not going back to All Stars, we currently have an offer for a DStv Premiership team. We are still negotiating with Sundowns and Swallows FC,” he told iDiski Times.

“We are in talks with Swallows and we are in talks with Sundowns. We are still negotiating the best team where he will play and get a game time.”
