South African actress and singer Letoya Makhene is proving that controversy can be turned into profit.

On 17 May 2026, a viral video surfaced showing Makhene humorously addressing the ongoing conversations about her personal life. In the clip, she contrasted her thriving acting career with what she described as setbacks in her love life, while also poking fun at claims that she is “cursed.”
