The official launch of the Zakes Bantwini Foundation took place at The Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg, marking a major step in the musician’s long-term commitment to social transformation. The event brought together leaders from entertainment, politics, and business in support of the initiative.

The foundation empowers South African youth, women, and creatives by expanding access to opportunities and development pathways. It focuses on key areas such as art, education, sports, music, culture, and leadership.

FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON MENTORSHIP AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Zakes Bantwini designed the foundation to create real and sustainable opportunities for young people. The organisation provides mentorship, skills development, entrepreneurship support, and industry guidance.

It also connects emerging talent with professionals across creative industries, helping bridge the gap between passion and career success. The goal is to equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and exposure needed to thrive in competitive spaces.

Zakes Bantwini said:

“Last night, I had the honour of officially launching the Zakes Bantwini Foundation at The Saxon Hotel a moment that’s been years in the making.
This foundation is deeply personal to me. It represents a long-standing commitment to creating access, mentorship, and real opportunities for the next generation, especially youth and women in South Africa.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who came through to support. Seeing leaders and creatives from government, business, entertainment, and the arts come together meant more than I can put into words. Your presence wasn’t just appreciated it strengthened the purpose behind this work.”

He also thanked everyone who attended the launch, saying their presence strengthened the purpose behind the work and the vision for the future.
