Former radio personality and activist Ngizwe Mchunu has once again made headlines after refusing to apologise to Julius Malema despite a recent Gauteng High Court ruling in Malema’s favour.

The ongoing feud between Mchunu and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader intensified after the court found that comments made by Mchunu about Malema were defamatory. The court ordered Mchunu to stop making further damaging statements and ruled that he should cover legal costs on a punitive scale.

A video circulating on social media shows Mchunu speaking during a discussion with former radio presenter Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, where he firmly rejected calls to apologise to Malema.

According to reports, Ngobese-Zuma encouraged Mchunu to put the matter behind him so he could focus on other social and political campaigns. However, Mchunu remained defiant and insisted he would not apologise under any circumstances.

His comments come just days after the Gauteng High Court granted an interdict against him following controversial allegations he made about Malema during interviews earlier this year.

The legal dispute began after Mchunu allegedly accused Malema of corruption and claimed the EFF leader had ties to criminal activity and illegal immigration networks. Malema’s legal team described the statements as false, malicious and defamatory.

Malema initially demanded a public apology, a retraction and R1 million in damages. Instead of backing down, Mchunu responded publicly with further criticism aimed at the EFF leader.

The tension between the two public figures has been escalating for months, with Mchunu previously making inflammatory remarks about Malema during political and social discussions.

The matter continues to attract widespread attention as both figures remain highly influential and controversial in South Africa’s political and social landscape.
