Jay-Z’s alleged son, Rymir Satterthwaite, drops lawsuits

Rymir Satterthwaite has been claiming to be rapper Jay-Z’s son for quite some time now which has had the whole world speculating as to whether this is true or not.

While Jay-Z has spoken on the matter, claiming that Rymir is not his son, Rymir not only remained steadfast that the rapper is his father but also filed a lawsuit against the rapper.

Rymir took to Instagram to speak on the recent events pertaining the lawsuit.

Who is Rymir Satterthwaite?

Rymir Satterthwaite is a 30-year-old man from New Jersey who is known in the media for being the young man claiming to be Jay-Z’s son.

In addition to that, Rymir is also trying to make a name for himself as a rapper in the music industry. If there is any validity to Rymir’s claims, we could see as him pursuing music as him following in his father’s footsteps.

The claims against Jay-Z

In a lawsuit filed on 3 May 2025, Rymir alleges that Jay-Z had a relationship with his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, in the 1990s when she was just 16. The lawsuit does not ask for child support, but does seek damages for emotional distress, damage to reputation, lack of financial support, as well as coverage for legal expenses. This is one of a few claims just has had to deal with this past year.

Rymir revealed that his mother, Wanda, spent two decades trying to prove that Jay-Z was in fact his father. In 2016, a video shared with Radar Online featured Wanda openly supporting her son’s claims and naming Jay-Z as the father.

In 2011, Wanda health began to deteriorate, which led to Rymir’s godmother, Lillie Coley, having to take care of him. And in 2016, Wanda finally passed on and Coley became Rymir’s legal support.

Is Jay-Z the father?

In response to the recent allegations, Jay-Z has taken a firm stance, claiming the assertions to be false. In court documents, filed on 16 June, recently obtained by E! News, the lawsuit has been labelled as the latest in a series of harassment claims from Satterthwaite and Coley. The ongoing situation has even led to a contempt order due to the frequency of the filings.

As it stands, Jay-Z has not publicly confirmed any paternity claims. In addition to that, no legal decision has established him as Rymir’s biological father.

Rymir drops lawsuit against Jay-Z

In more recent news, Rymir Satterthwaite has dropped his lawsuit against Jay-Z.

In an Instagram post shared on 27 July 2025, Rymir shared:

I just want to get on here and let everybody know the updates, what’s going on. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks y’all. I’m gonna let y’all know I have not stopped my fight. You know, I did withdraw my case, it’s for a reason y’all . It’s not because I’m stopping with it or not going to refile it or anything. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors. Hey, we gotta step back and play chess, not checkers.

Judging by the contents of the remaining video, Rymir appears to be hinting at being coerced by outside forces to drop the lawsuit. But, who really knows if any of this, including Rymir’s paternity claims, is real.

Jay-Z has not shared anything from his side about the lawsuit being dropped. Could this be the last we hear about this case and Rymir Satterthwaite?

Do you think Jay-Z could be Rymir Sattherwaite’s biological father?
