Social media users slammed music producer and DJ Oscar Mbo for posting a video of himself getting ready for his mother’s funeral over the Mother’s Day weekend.

Fans expressed their thoughts regarding Oscar’s stint on the day of his mother’s funeral.

@TheAudioLabSA shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) showing the talented music producer and his son putting together their outfits for the funeral.

Oscar, previously accused of abuse by his ex‑girlfriend, captioned the video “laying our Queen to rest on Mother’s Day. Together through thick & thin, the Lord shall provide.”

FANS REACT TO OSCAR’S’ VIDEO

Many recounted their personal experiences of losing a loved one, stating that vlogging was definitely not on their minds during the funeral.

OSCAR: ‘YOU TAUGHT US HOW TO PRAY’ 

The Moya Wami hitmaker announced the sad news of his mother’s passing on 5 May.

He described her as the influence behind instilling life skills such as prayer, sharing, and self‑expression. Oscar also highlighted how loving and supportive his mother truly was.

“Woah [sic]. You loved all of us so loud, you taught us how to pray, how to share, and how to express ourselves,” he began.

“I thank God for your amazing life that you shared with us, Mama, the best childhood I had, and the support you gave me from the very beginning to the end,” he wrote.

“You were so proud of me & would always remind me how good God is,” he continued.

“Rest in eternal peace, I’m shattered but I’m filled with so much love as you always gave me. Rest in peace my love,” he wrote.
