Focalistic responds to Cassper Nyovest’s ‘diss’ on Ooh Aah

Fakaloice released a song with the late rapper Ricky Rick and Cassper Nyovest. Ooh, Ahh is the track’s name, and Cassper Nyovest had a thing or two to get off his chest. Mzansi went crazy over one particular line by Cassper on the song, and people were quick to tell Focalistic he was dissed. The Ke Star singer didn’t take it lying down and released a video defending himself.

Cassper’s verse on Ooh Aah

Mufasa had a lot to say in that verse. As most know, he is more of an amapiano and alternative music artist now, but he started as a rapper. His hip-hop side is not yet deceased, and he proved it in the song. For one, the Phuma’kim rapper called himself the God of hip hop. He said he inspired all these Mzansi artists, including Foca; by Foca, he meant Focalistic.

Cassper also said people were putting snubs on their bars when he was the one who inspired them. In those words, he looked down on these artists for almost biting the hand that fed them. Mufasa mentioned how he went platinum with CDs and not streaming numbers like the current artists. He also said how the music industry is messed up, and he’s here to fix it.

Among all those things, the rapper explained how much of a creative and revolutionary artist he is. He clearly stated how he went from making hip-hop music to making gqom and amapiano. On top of all those music genre switches, Cassper emphasized how he has always stayed on top of his game. He is disgusted with the people acting on top but hasn’t mastered their skills like him.

Focalistic’s response

Amapiano singer Focalistic took a live video on Instagram in the streets of Paris. Focalistic was taking a random walk when he explained the diss people are talking about is not that deep. Focalistic says Cassper was merely rapping and didn’t consider what he said as a diss.

Focalistic later said yes, it is a fact that Cassper inspired him to go after the position he is in currently. He also reiterated that you couldn’t be indebted to someone who inspired you. Focalistic clearly stated that inspiration does not have an invoice whatsoever. The Ke Star singer says Michael Jackson also inspired him, but he can’t give him anything in return for his inspiration.

One of the biggest things the amapiano giant said is that although Cassper said he inspired him, it doesn’t change that he is currently living his dream. Focalistic says he is presently near the Eiffel Tower in Paris. He made it from the dusty streets of Pretoria to where he is now; if he should inspire anything, Cassper Nyovest is making huge international moves right now.

Mzansi had mixed reactions to the matter.

Some tweeps said Focalistic is doing his thing, and Cassper is just overreacting. A large demographic of people call Focalistic a true star, and he’s intimidating Cassper. His fans kept quoting his famous phrase ‘ never change ‘, which means that he is number one and will never change.

Others feel Cassper was well in his right to create the diss. According to some people, Focalistic had no right to snub Cassper, and icons should be respected. Cassper’s fans laughed at Focalistic for thinking he is higher despite streaming numbers, as some of the numbers don’t even pay his bills.
