Former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has sent his old rival Gavin Hunt a message after the latter was announced as new SuperSport United coach.

Hunt, 59, was unveiled as new SuperSport coach on Thursday during a press conference, where the club also vehemently denied any rumours of a potential sale.

The former Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United coach returns to Matsatsantsa for a second time after already being in charge between 2007 and 2013, when he had taken over from Mosimane.

The latter, who is currently without a job after leaving Al Ahly last month, now sent Hunt a message, saying he must “enjoy himself” at his new club.

“Out of 4 PSL titles you won 3 were achieved at SuperSport FC,” he wrote on social media.

“Top Coaches will always rebound in a strong way. Don’t be shy to dust off that old book that won those trophies.

“Enjoy yourself.”

Mosimane and Hunt have also been long-term rivals in the Premier Soccer League and have faced each other 18 times throughout their respective careers so far, with ‘Jingles’ winning eight of those clashes, while five ended in a draw and Hunt ended up victorious in five.
