Bonko Khoza hails Thembinkosi Mthembu as a giant in SA acting

Bonko Khoza pens heartfelt tribute to Thembinkosi Mthembu

Actor Bonko Khoza is giving flowers while they’re still due, and this time, he’s celebrating none other than Shaka iLembe and The River star, Thembinkosi Mthembu.

In a touching appreciation post shared on social media, Bonko praised Thembinkosi for his remarkable talent and undeniable impact on South African storytelling. The Wife actor opened his message by calling himself Thembinkosi’s biggest fan, saying he’s been in awe of his work since his breakthrough role as Mabutho.

“From the moment you stepped onto our screens as Mabutho, I knew we were witnessing something special,” wrote Bonko.

He continued by acknowledging Thembinkosi’s consistent rise in the industry, applauding him for the power and truth he brings to every performance.

“You’re not just one of the greatest of our generation, you’re a giant carving your name into the history books of South African storytelling,” he added.

“You’ve inspired me, as an actor and as a man. And you continue to inspire a whole generation.”

Bonko ended the post with a strong message of support and admiration: “Khuphuka lapho Mvelase. We see you. We celebrate you. And we’re right behind you.”
