Veteran actress Harriet Manamela has cleared the air following speculation that she has exited Skeem Saam after landing a new role on Isitha: The Enemy.

The star, widely recognised for her portrayal of Meikie Maputla, recently joined the eTV series where she plays Dorcas, a character already drawing attention from viewers.

Her casting sparked rumours that she may have parted ways with Skeem Saam, prompting questions about her future on the long-running show.

Responding to the speculation, Manamela dismissed the idea of a full exit, explaining that her role on Skeem Saam had already shifted in recent years.

“All I can say about that is, for the past two years, I became a call actor on the show, so I’m back in the freelancing world,” she said.

Her move into a more flexible working arrangement has allowed her to explore new roles, including her latest character, which she describes as a familiar and entertaining personality many can relate to.

“A character we all have in our families. When she’s around, you get annoyed by her. But when she’s not around, everyone talks about her, and they crack up thinking about what she could be doing,” she shared.
