Anatii says “the country will heal once the baddies turn state witnesses” as Madlanga Commission pressure builds

South Africa’s Madlanga Commission continues to attract national attention as it investigates allegations of political interference, governance failures, and possible corruption within key state institutions.

Led by Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, the inquiry has become a major focal point in ongoing conversations about accountability and transparency.

It was against this backdrop that musician Anatii sparked widespread reaction online with a blunt social media post.

He wrote: “the country will heal once the baddies turn state witnesses.”

The statement quickly spread across platforms, with many interpreting it as a call for individuals allegedly linked to wrongdoing to come forward and assist in exposing deeper truths.

The use of the word “baddies” has since become a trending reference online, often used to describe people believed to be connected, directly or indirectly, to questionable activities.

Anatii’s remark has also intensified debate around the role of commissions of inquiry, especially the idea that their success often depends on insiders choosing to speak out.

Meanwhile, ongoing public speculation around various figures mentioned in online discussions has continued to grow alongside the commission’s proceedings.

One of those names circulating in social media conversations is Cyan Boujee, following reports about her frozen bank accounts and renewed questions about her financial history and lifestyle.

She has previously dismissed similar claims, but online debate around her has resurfaced in recent weeks.

There is, however, no official finding from the Madlanga Commission linking her or confirming any wrongdoing.
