Khaya Dladla strengthens ex fiancé Mercutio Buthelezi amid cancer battle

Businessman and former partner of actor Khaya Dladla, Mercutio Buthelezi recently opened up about his battle with cancer.

Mercutio described being diagnosed with Polycythemia vera last year as a painful journey of his life. Taking to his Instagram page, Mercutio shared pictures of him in a hospital bed, and captioned his post: “I was diagnosed with Polycythemia vera, a rare type of blood cancer, It has challenged me emotionally, spiritually, financially, and otherwise,” he penned.

He also thanked everyone who has prayed and supported him at a time of need.

Instagram users, including the House of Zwide actor Khaya Dladla weighed in:

“It has been a tough one indeed but you are doing so well with making sure you bounce back. We have spoken alot about it and from were you were to where you are now, well done. You are strong and cancer has nothing on you. God speed Shenge,” said Khaya.

Media personality Nomsa Buthelezi said: “Oh mtase uzophola unkulunkulu akubeke izandla zakhe (you will heal, may God heal you) I speak healing in your life Amen.”

While another user said: “My friend, I realised that I don’t have your number. I was told about your diagnosis by a friend. This post just made it real. Especially because I see a lot of blood cancer patients in the line of work I do, it just hit home. I promise to call. Promise to see you if you’re in town. Stay strong. Cancer is a rollercoaster. You are in my thoughts.”
