MaWhoo, Sithelo Shozi and Cyan Boujee have found themselves at the centre of online debate after being named in a viral X post calling for the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to look into their finances.

The claims surfaced shortly after the arrest of Ekurhuleni City Manager Kagiso Michael Lerutla at OR Tambo International Airport, a development that quickly triggered widespread speculation on social media.

As conversations around the case intensified, one X user went further by tagging the SIU directly and urging the agency to investigate the trio, alongside circulating images of them posing with luxury cars.

The post alleged possible links between their lifestyles and alleged stolen public funds, though no evidence was provided.

The user wrote: “Dear @RSASIU, In the matter of Kagiso Lerutla: Please also look into the bank accounts of ‘Mahwoo’, ‘Sithelo’ and ‘Cyan Boujee’. Their real names are Thandeka Ngema, Sithelo Shozi and Honour Zuma. Check what assets or properties were bought in their names using stolen public funds received from Lerutla.”

The post quickly gained traction, dividing opinion online.

Some users supported the call for scrutiny, while others dismissed it as baseless speculation fuelled by online gossip and assumptions about influencers’ lifestyles.

The situation also reignited discussion around Cyan Boujee, who had recently deactivated her social media accounts, further fuelling rumours and linking her name to the unfolding narrative.
