South African TV personality Basetsana Kumalo is celebrating a very special moment as her son turns 21. The proud mom shared a touching message and a video of him dancing on social media.
She spoke about how much her son, Nkosinathi, means to her and how happy she felt when he was born.
BASETSANA KUMALO SHARES SPECIAL MESSAGE
Basetsana wrote a long message to celebrate her son’s birthday. She spoke about the day he was born and how she had prayed for him.
She wrote, “Twenty one years ago, today, I held you in my arms and it was love at first sight. I had waited and prayed for you for so long, you are an answer to a prayer son, Nkosinathi. Watching you grow has been one of my greatest joys.”
She also said her son taught her how to be a mother and still teaches her many things today.
“You taught me how to be a mother and you remain my teacher in so many ways. I bless the day you were born,” she wrote.
BASETSANA KUMALO GIVES ADVICE TO HER SON
Basetsana also spoke about the kind of person her son is. She praised his strength, kindness, and the way he treats others.
“Through the ups and downs of life, I am in awe of your courage, your strength, your resilience and your wisdom. You are kind, compassionate, considerate and loving,” she added.
She gave him advice as he grows older and faces new challenges in life.
“Stand tall, but stay humble. Be brave, but remain gentle. Build boldly, but never at the cost of your character,” she wrote.
She also reminded him to stay true to himself and his values.
BASETSANA CELEBRATES FAMILY AND LOVE
The message ended with Basetsana sharing her deep love for her son. She told him that no matter where life takes him, he will always have her support.
“And remember this… no matter how far you go, no matter how much you grow, you will always have a home in me. I love you beyond words, beyond time, beyond measure. Happy 21st birthday, Mntungwa, Mashobane, Mzilikazi.”
Basetsana Kumalo has been married to her husband, Romeo Kumalo, for 25 years. The couple has three children together.
Aside from celebrating her son’s milestone, Basetsana has also been active with her work. She recently shared exciting news in a joint Instagram post about the return of Top Billing, which is set to make a comeback in April 2026.
