Thato and Gash 1’s marriage ends

Radio personality Thato Immaculate has confirmed her separation from husband Gashwan Brandon Mthombeni ‘Gash 1’, marking the end of their three-year marriage.

The pair, who first met on Big Brother Mzansi Season 3, had become one of the show’s most recognised couples, with fans following their journey from reality TV romance to building a family together.

In a statement shared on Saturday, Thato revealed that the relationship had come to an end following recent incidents she described as “irreconcilable” based on her personal values.

“After three years of marriage, Gashwan Brandon Mthombeni and I are no longer together,” she said.

“Following incidents that happened the past few days that are irreconcilable by my standards and values, I have made the decision to walk away.”

She added that both families have been involved in discussions around the separation and are aware of her decision.

“Our families have met to discuss the matters, and as I have shared with them and in his presence, this is a decision I stand firm on,” she shared.

While acknowledging public interest in their relationship, Thato made it clear she would not be revealing further details, urging supporters to avoid turning the situation into conflict.

“I respectfully ask that this does not turn into a That vs Gash1 battle… Out of respect for our families and for the sake of my son, I will not be going into further details.”

The reality TV star also opened up about the emotional impact of the split, admitting she is heartbroken but determined to move forward.

“For me I am heartbroken but I need to soldier on and continue working,” she said.

Reflecting on her decision, Thato emphasised her commitment to staying true to herself, even in difficult circumstances.

“I would have never wanted to raise my child alone; however, I have always maintained that there are certain non-negotiables I cannot compromise on… I will not betray myself.”

She concluded by stating that this would be her final public comment on the matter, while recognising Gash1 as the father of her child and expressing gratitude to her supporters.

“Moving forward, it will just be me and my baby, and I am fully focused on building a healthy, happy future for us.”
